WBS (Work Beginning Steek—worked at beg of each round just before working sts from colorwork chart): CSC with MC in first st of previous round changing to CC on last yo, CSC with CC in foll st changing to MC on last yo, CSC with MC in next st changing color on last yo if needed in order to work foll ch-1 in same color as first st of chart, ch 1 with color to be used on foll st (first st of colorwork chart), skip next ch. Now beg to work across chart.

WES (Work Ending steek—worked at end of each round just after working across sts in chart): Change to MC on last yo of last CSC from chart if necessary, ch 1 with MC, skip next ch, CSC with MC in next st changing to CC on last yo, CSC with CC in foll st changing to MC on last yo, CSC with MC in next st making last yo with BOTH yarns held together as one, cont with both yarns held together as one, ch 2, drop CC, ch 1 with MC.

Linen dec (linen stitch decrease in single crochet—working first leg of decrease into next ch-1 sp and 2nd leg into foll ch-1 sp: Insert hook into next ch-1 sp, yo and pull up a loop, insert hook in foll ch-1 sp, yo and pull up loop, yo and pull through all 3 loops (2 sts decreased).
